Overview
This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to enter the maintenance mode on Ingenico devices for both RAM and UPP variants.
Ingenico Lane series (RAM)
- Restart the device using the yellow < button and the
.,'
button. - Wait for the device to load to the idle screen.
- Press the MENU button.
- Enter the password

, then press the O (green circle) button.
Ingenico Lane series (UPP)
- Restart the device using the yellow < button and the
.
button. - Wait for the device to load the blue screen displaying the ChipDNA idle message.
- Press the following combination: 2, 6, 3, 4.
- You should now be prompted to Press F for Menu.
- Press F. You should now see the entire device configuration menu.
Ingenico Self series (RAM)
- If the device is already powered on, power it off by unplugging the power cable.
- Hold the transparent square button on the back of the device and power it on.
- If you are quick, you can power it on and then press and hold the button while it is lit with a white light.
- For the Self/7000-8000 specifically, make sure this is the button on the Self/7000 (contact card reader unit) and NOT the button on the Self/8000 (PIN pad unit).
- Keep holding the button until it flashes red, then release.
- The device should beep and go through the usual "Welcome" start-up procedure and eventually display a screen similar to the following:

[DEVICE_NAME]_Z0 MAINTENANCE MODE yyyy/MM/dd

- Press the ⦿ (circled dot) button.
- Use the up and down arrows to navigate to RA1.
- When prompted, enter the password

Note: If the device displays "LTT" you have released the button too early. You may still be able to get into the maintenance mode menu, however, some functions will not work correctly. E.g. You cannot enter PIN to change the devices TCP/IP settings.
Ingenico Self series (UPP)
Warning: The instructions below will only work on firmware 7.83.19 and higher. Due to a firmware bug, the maintenance menu cannot be accessed on firmware lower than that. Please contact Integration Support at integration@nmi.com for further assistance.
- If the device is already powered on, power it off by unplugging the power cable.
- Power on the device, while holding the square button on the back.
- For the Self/7000-8000 specifically, make sure this is the button on the Self/7000 (contact card reader unit) and NOT the button on the Self/8000 (PIN pad unit).
- Keep holding the button until it flashes red, then release.
- The device should beep and go through the usual "Welcome" start-up procedure and eventually display a screen similar to the following:

- Press the ⦿ (circled dot) button.
- You should then have access to the menu.
Note: If the device displays "LTT" you have released the button too early. You may still be able to get into the maintenance mode menu, however, some functions will not work correctly. E.g. You cannot enter PIN to change the devices TCP/IP settings.
